eyebrow tattooing

by Montana Inez & JESS NICHOLS

natural, low maintenance brows

Whether you’re after a softly defined shape or fuller, fluffier brows — our specialised techniques like microblading, mimic real hair strokes to enhance your natural features and fill in sparse areas.
It all starts with a collaborative consultation, where we take the time to design brows that reflect your vision. You’ll work one-on-one with an experienced artist who’ll guide you through every step.
From there, we implant fine, hair-like strokes of custom pigment beneath the skin to create waterproof, smudge-proof brows that stay put—so you can wake up ready to face the day (or the dance floor).

good-to-know info:

If your eyebrows have been previously tattooed by another artist, please let us know by sending photos of your existing tattoo via email before booking an appointment, so that we can ensure your desired result is achievable.

  • Initially, this is a 2-step process, comprised of 2x sessions spaced 6-12 weeks apart. The second session is crucial and allows for any necessary additions or adjustments to ensure you are in love with your brows for as long as possible!

  • Microblading is a semi - permanent tattoo, so most people re-visit every 1-2 years on average for a “refresh” or “colour boost” session, which usually takes 1-2 hours. This session is similar to the initial touch up session and helps to boost and redefine shape and detail to keep your tattoos looking their best for another 1-2 years, before your next maintenance session — we love low maintenance!

  • After 24 months with no maintenance sessions in between, a new full session may be required at full price, to allow enough time to thoroughly re structure and recreate your brows.
We recommend coming in every 1-2 years for a touch up as needed

  • The minimum age requirement to be tattooed is 18 years old.

before & after care instructions

-BEFORE CARE

  • Cease using skin or blood thinners (Vitamin A, glycolic acids ect) on the brow area 2 weeks prior to your appointment.

  • Do not apply any topical anaesthetic/numbing cream to the area prior to your appointment.

  • Botox or fillers should be done 4 weeks prior or 4 weeks after your appointment (only necessary in the same area as your tattoo)

  • CAFFEINE: should be had no sooner than 4 hours before your appointment. This is to prevent excess bleeding, bruising, increased heart rate, unnecessary pain and fidgeting clients :)

This means NO COFFEE / ENERGY DRINKS min. 4 hours before your appointment, please!

    Afterwards is fine.

  • NO ALCOHOL for 24 hours before your session. Afterwards is fine.

  • It is helpful to come in with your brows filled in or styled as you may usually/are hoping to replicate, and bring reference photos that you like to your appointment, this is super helpful for your artist and gives us a starting point to work from.

  • You may experience hypersensitivity and more discomfort around or during your menstrual cycle.

  • We cannot tattoo over blemishes, sores or raised freckles/moles in the brow area. Your artist will do their best to camouflage/work around these things where possible.

  • GET EXCITED! You are in safe hands and we can’t wait to meet you :)

-AFTER CARE

DAYS 1 - 5:
Follow theSE steps AM+PM FOR DAYS 1-5 AFTER your session:

  • Keep your brows completely dry (aside from the blotting steps) until the flaking has completely stopped. Do not submerge your face underwater (pools/ocean/hot tubs) until your brows are fully healed (14 days minimum).

  • Dampen paper towel with warm water

  • Gently blot and press the towel over each brow to absorb any lymph/oil/sweat

  • Repeat this step with a dry sheet of paper towel to absorb any left over moisture

  • Allow skin to air dry before applying a rice grain sized amount of the provided balm across both brows with a Q-tip

Dry skin — apply balm 1-2 times per day.
Normal/Combo skin — apply balm once per day/every other day.
Oily skin — apply balm once every other day.

It’s important not to over/under moisturise a new tattoo, so assess each day and maintain a minimal amount of hydration. If balm is building up - there’s too much!

It is normal and expected for your brows to feel extra big and dark in the first week. Don’t worry, trust the process!

DAYS 5 - 9:

In this time frame your brows will begin to flake and peel, similar to a mild sunburn. Some tenderness and a little itchiness is normal. Remember not to pick or scratch at the area and allow the skin to fall away in its own time for maximum retention. You should apply a small amount of balm as needed, being careful not to disrupt flaking skin or overload with cream.
Refrain from wetting flaking skin as much as possible.

DAY 10 - 14+:

Once all flaking has finished, your brows will feel softer and less defined. Some may feel they have totally disappeared!
This is completely normal, as the skin will continue to heal for up to 12 weeks into the deeper layers.
You may apply a small, very thin layer of balm every few days from here on as needed.

REMEMBER:

  • No makeup or skincare products on/near new tattoos for min. 14 days

  • Avoid touching or picking at healing skin

  • Only use the provided aftercare balm while healing

  • Be gentle when washing your face and showering, keeping your brows as dry as possible throughout

  • Any adjustments can be made at a perfecting session (6-12 weeks later)

THINGS TO AVOID DURING THE HEALING PROCESS:

  • Scratching/picking/touching dry skin or flakiness while healing

  • Direct water on your tattoo, cleansers, soap, skincare or makeup. Wash around the area(s) using fingertips or wipes.

  • Activities that will cause excess sweating on the tattooed area for 10-14 days

  • Swimming pools, hot tubs, saunas/steam rooms, hot exercise classes for 14 days

  • High UV exposure (including tanning beds)

  • Laser light therapy near the area

  • Exfoliants, retinol acids or AHA’s on or near the area for 30 days after the appointment (this may cause premature fading)

  • Massages, facials or skin treatments on or near the area for minimum 2 weeks

-LONG TERM CARE

  • Cosmetic tattoos can last 1-5 years depending on factors like lifestyle, skin type and aftercare

  • Excess exposure to the sun and tanning beds can cause premature fading and discolouration of the pigment
Once completely healed, always apply sunscreen on your tattoos

  • Avoid chemical exfoliants on tattoos, as it will cause them to fade

  • Makeup application may still be required post tattoo to achieve certain desired looks. We aim to create natural results that enhance your natural beauty so if you’re going for a more dramatic look this can be achieved with makeup on top to have the best of both worlds!

  • HOT TIP: use a cotton tip with water or makeup remover to remove excess foundation/makeup from your brows after you’re done to avoid them getting lost under foundation and looking faded!

  • Yearly touchups with your original artist are recommended to maintain your best results
