eyebrow tattooing
by Montana Inez & JESS NICHOLS
effortless, natural brows.
Whether you’re after soft definition or fuller, fluffier brows - our specialised tattooing techniques such as fine hair strokes or powder style shading, mimic hair or subtle makeup to enhance your natural features and fill in sparse areas.
It all starts with a collaborative consultation and design process, where we take time to create brows that reflect your vision.
You’ll work one-on-one with an experienced artist who’ll guide you through every step.
Good-To-Know info :

Initially, this is a TWO-STEP process, comprised of
2 x sessions, 6-12 weeks apart, for optimal results.
The second session is crucial and allows for any necessary additions or adjustments, and so a gentle approach can be taken at the first session. This type of tattoo is semi-permanent. Most guests re-visit every 1-2 years on average for a refresher session (2 hours). Similar to the second touch up session, this will boost colour, redefine shape and detail to keep your tattoos looking fresh for another 1-2 years, before your next maintenance session — (we love low maintenance)
After 2-3 years with no maintenance sessions in between, a new full session may be required at full price, to allow enough time to thoroughly re-structure and recreate your brows.
We recommend coming in every 1-3 years for a touch up - only when needed. The minimum age requirement to be tattooed is 18 years old.

Before & After care :
- BEFORE CARE :
PLEASE AVOID THE FOLLOWING THINGS BEFORE YOUr tattoo SESSION:
COFFEE, caffeine/tea/energy drinks, minimum 4 hours before receiving a tattoo - to prevent excess bleeding, bruising and loss of pigment. Post session consumption is fine.
ALCOHOL consumption 24 hours before receiving a tattoo.
INJECTABLES for 4 weeks before or after your appointment (only necessary in the same area as your tattoo).
Facials of all kinds/Facial Lasers/Tanning - for 4 weeks before/after facial tattooing.
Medications that cause skin or blood thinning including but not limited to: Aspirin, Advil, Niacin, Fish Oil, Vitamin E, and Ibuprofen, Steroids, Roaccutane — Please consult your GP before stopping any medication.
Do not apply any topical anaesthetic/numbing cream to the area.
ADDITIONALLY:
If you usually wax/thread/tint your eyebrows, please do this NO sooner than 3 days before tattooing.
As a point of reference, it is recommended and always helpful to come to your appointment how you may usually fill in your brows and/or bring reference photos of styles or examples that you like.
Hypersensitivity and more discomfort around or during your menstrual cycle is possible.
We cannot tattoo over blemishes, sores or raised moles, though your artist will do their best to camouflage and work around where possible.
ACTIVE SKIN CARE:Cease using any active skincare, such as Retinol, Tretinoin or vitamin A products on or near the area of tattooing for a minimum of 14 days prior to your appointment and 30 days post appointment.
These products can cause premature colour loss due to skin cell turnover increase. If you continue use, do not apply on the tattooed area. More frequent touch ups may be required.
We refrain from working on individuals on Accutane and require to be off medication for a minimum of 1 year before being tattooed.
If you experience blemishes, acne, cold sores or other skin irritations in the area of the procedure, please contact your artist via e-mail for consultation prior to your appointment time.
- AFTER CARE :
day 1 - 5:
Your brows will look bolder at this stage. This is completely normal.
Keep the area completely dry (apart from cleaning steps), until flaking has naturally finished, usually day 10-14.
Avoid makeup, skincare and SPF near/on tattooed skin until healed.
Each day, morning + night:
1. Lightly dampen clean paper towel with warm water.
2. Gently PRESS over each brow to remove any oil, sweat, or lymphatic fluid.
3. Pat dry with a fresh, dry paper towel and allow skin to air dry for 5 minutes.
4. Gently apply a very thin, small, rice grain sized amountof the provided balm with clean fingers or cotton tips.
Dry skin: 1x daily, only as needed.
Normal / combination: 1x every second day, only as needed.
Oily skin: 1 x every 1-2 days only if needed
Less is more!
day 5 - 9:
During this time your brows will begin to flake and peel, similar to a light sunburn. Some itchiness is normal. Avoid touching or picking and allow the skin to shed naturally in its own time, for the best result.
You can use a small, thin layer of balm if they feel tight or dry.
Avoid makeup and skin care near and over tattooed skin.
day 10-14:
Once the flaking has finished, your tattoo may feel softer and less visible or defined. This is completely normal, as the skin will continue to heal for 6-12 weeks into the deeper layers.
Balm is no longer needed, though light moisturising is beneficial.
Sunscreen and sun protection is now your tattoos best friend!
remember:
• No makeup or skincare products near your brows for 14 days.
• Only use the provided balm - MINIMAL BALM. DO NOT OVER USE.
• Be gentle when washing your face or showering, keeping the tattooed skin as dry as possible.
• Let your skin heal naturally and resist the urge to touch them.
avoid the following during the healing process:
• Picking or scratching at flaking skin.
• Wetting your brows (aside from cleaning steps), swimming or soaking under water for 14 days.
• Sweating - saunas, high intensity exercise for 10 days.
• Using cleansers, skincare (including AHA’s and exfoliants) or makeup on healing skin.
• Direct sun or tanning, for 8 weeks.
• Laser or light treatments on or near the area for 1 month.
• Facials, massages, or skin treatments near the brows for 4 weeks
- LONG TERM CARE :
Your cosmetic tattoos will fade gradually with time. With care, they can stay looking beautiful as they soften.
• Eyebrow tattoos typically last 1-4 years depending on your skin type, lifestyle and aftercare.
• Active skincare products, such as retinol or chemical exfoliants will cause tattoos to fade faster.
• Sun exposure, UV rays, and tanning beds can lead to premature fading or pigment discolouration. Once healed, apply sunscreen daily to protect your tattoos.
• Makeup can still be applied once healing is complete to create your desired look. The goal is always a natural enhancement, but you can easily add definition with makeup if you prefer something more dramatic.
• Yearly or bi-yearly touch-up appointments with your original artist are recommended to keep your results fresh and defined.
HOT TIP : Use a Q-tip with water or makeup remover to clean around your brows after applying foundation.
